Thumb Sucker

Benton has discovered his thumb!! This is bittersweet...he can now self-sooth, but we will have to invest in braces if this continues throughout adolesence. I was a thumb sucker so....ENJOY!

Thumbsucking really is bittersweet. Anna sucks her thumb and it's really very cute. I just hope we don't have dental problems later. If it makes you feel better, my Grandma Spackman sucked her thumb till she went to school. I DO remember you sucking your thumb - but you twirled the yarn on your blanket at the same time.

He is so dang cute! I think it is cute when kids suck their thumbs. Calvin sucks his 2 fingers and I don't know how we are going to break him of it. It really calms him down though.

Don't worry about dental problems my dentist says it's all genetic. I sucked my thumb forever! And I never had braces...I would enjoy it! I was seriously hoping that Camden would so I wouldn't have to help him find his pacifier like 50 times a night!

Be grateful that he can sooth himself and doesn't need you to pop a paci in his mouth... He is so cute! My friends little girl always sucked her thumb until about 2 1/2 and then one day she just kind of stopped doing it so don't worry. Her teeth look fine and she didn't such her thumb forever. :)

Cam has been so sick!!! But we are finally doing pretty good. Are you going to work out at the gym tomorrow??? If so let me know and I will meet you there. How fun to get to go to UT….what a good guy!

BJ! It was great to hear from you- it's been too long. Your kids are adorable! As for the thumbsucking, I'm somewhat jealous- I just wish Jace would take a pacifier or a thumb (until then, I guess the job's all mine....augh!) Take care. Talk to you later!

I say, consider yourself lucky! Also, I wanted to tell you that last night, Johnny stared covering his eyes, then opening and closing his hands and saying "pop!" I COULD not figure out what he was doing until it finally clicked that he was singing the song you taught him in nursery, "Popocorn Popping on the Apricot Tree"! Good job, BJ!
